In early 2009, the Westwind Stewardship Group (WSG) took an important step in its organizational growth by hiring our first Executive Director, Dave Martin.  Over the past three years, Dave has overseen development of WSG’s strategic plan, strengthened our partnership with the YWCA, developed an annual budget and workplan process, streamlined financial systems and reporting, overseen development of a new website and social media outreach, helped raise Westwind’s profile in the local community, and most recently helped develop a three-year fundraising strategy.
 
In late August, Dave announced his decision to leave WSG.  Dave and his family have made a decision to begin a slow transition to return to the Portland area.  “I have immensely enjoyed my time at Westwind, and the opportunity to meet so many people for whom Westwind holds a special place in their hearts.  Through my service as Executive Director, as well as getting married at Westwind, I am proud to now count myself among them.  I will miss working at one of the most beautiful places in Oregon, and I look forward to returning to Westwind as a guest in the years to come.”
 
“The Board is grateful to Dave for his enthusiastic stewardship of the Westwind site, and will work over the coming weeks to develop a transition strategy and plan,” said chair Anne Squier. Dave will remain as Executive Director through the Fall.
